Aaron Draplin is one of my biggest idols in Logo Design and not just because of the work he produces, He is one colourful character just like his book he recently wrote which is also a really good read but that's a different story and i'll include a link to it at the end of this article.

His no-nonsense attitude and straight forward approach makes this guy very likeable and i could listen to this guy speak for hours. Aaron Draplin is a Logo Designer from Portland, ore and he is legendary for his pride and craftsmanship he executes with every project he undertakes. He has worked with some big companies such as Nike and Ride Snowboarding, Burton and the likes of President Obama!.

He is involved in other projects like making "merch" for his favorite brands and getting logo designers fired up at his 40-plus speaking dates he has per year, He has a terrific commissioned projects such as his own brand of notebooks called Field Notes and his design company the Draplin Design Company also known as DDC

Just a note to any clients who watch this and think that the logo design process only takes 15 minutes from start to finish that is far from the truth, the video is an overview the idea has already been done, and you can clearly see on his computer the designs have already been designed he just goes through the early stage of the concept. This overall process can take time and every project is different he could have spent days, weeks on and off to prepare to film this.
